Alan - I the script which gets hosts in maint mode is it possible to pull annotations if any for the host - this will be helpful - because annotations caontain why the host was put in maint mode (in our case they are updated manually before putting host in maint mode)

I am attempting to run a variation of this script which will get list of distribution groups, get the name of the group and its members (names and email) for part of the body of an email. And then email to each Distribution goup an email. So far I can get the groups and export-csv to remove notypeinformation and then clean up the quotes due to the export. I have part of the send-mailmessage crafted but having trouble putting all together especially getting group members per group...

Any help would be appreciated... Thx

Hi,

Looks like win32_diskdrive's scsiport -1 or scsiport- 2 doesnt always work for all environments.

For example in my environment for scsi controllers 0, 1, 2, 3 bus numbers are 0, 1, 2, 3 respectively.

I have attached vmdks to these sci controllers but the windows assigned random port numbers.

it assigned 2, 5, 4, 3 for the disks that are attached 0, 1, 2, 3 scsi controllers.

So am i missing something? is there any other way to map a vmdk to a windows physical disk.

Regards,

Great stuff and your update yesterday for PowerCLI 5.0 was quite timely! Just found a bunch of VMs in our environment that were erroneously configured with a memory limit. Some were in the tragic state of ballooning or even swapping needlessly since they were artificially starved. What could have quite possibly have taken hours to fix turned into a few minutes with this script. Thank you for sharing!

Or ever better:
<pre lang=powershell>
Get-VM|
Get-VMResourceConfiguration |
Where {$_.MemLimitMB -ne -1} |
Set-VMResourceConfiguration -MemLimitMB $null
</pre>
